At Native Seeds, our work has always been guided by a deeper purpose — to grow, source and supply native seed in a way that supports the restoration and long-term health of Australia’s landscapes.
Whether for ecological restoration, sustainable agriculture, or urban and domestic use, native species offer solutions shaped by this land over thousands of years.
Acknowledging Traditional Knowledge
We recognise that the native species we work with did not evolve in isolation. They exist today because of the deep knowledge, care and stewardship of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, who have managed and nurtured this Country for tens of thousands of years.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we operate and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise that cultural knowledge, land management practices and connection to Country continue to underpin the health and resilience of these ecosystems.
Our Commitment
As a business working closely with native species, we believe it is important to ensure our work contributes positively and respectfully to the communities connected to this knowledge and Country.
We have introduced a long term commitment to allocate a contribution from our seed production toward initiatives that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This is an initial step in a broader, ongoing process of learning, engagement and relationship-building.
We recognise that meaningful engagement takes time, and we are committed to listening, learning and working in ways that are respectful, considered and informed by the communities we seek to support.
Supporting Indigenous Literacy Foundation
As a starting point, we are proud to support the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF), a national organisation working with remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The ILF is community-led and responds directly to requests from communities for culturally relevant books and resources. Their work supports early learning, language preservation, and the creation of stories by communities, in their own voices and languages.

Looking Ahead
This commitment is part of a broader journey. As Native Seeds grows, we aim to deepen our understanding, strengthen relationships with Traditional Owners, and explore opportunities to support initiatives that are aligned with Country, culture and community priorities.
We recognise that this is an evolving process, and we will approach it with respect, transparency and accountability.
